INSTRUCTOR TRAINING PROGRAM

ROMANA'S PILATES INTERNATIONAL

LEARN THE LEGACY

01

THE VALUE PROPOSITION OF THIS TRAINING PROGRAM HAS THREE MAIN LINES:

QUALITY, COMMITMENT, AND EXPERIENCE

This training program is based on the original structure devised by Romana Kryzanowska to transmit Joseph Pilates's legacy in its genuine form. This was only possible thanks to her status as Joseph Pilates's protegé, the student to whom entrusted his original studio and the Contrology method. This legacy has been preserved and enhanced over the years by Sari Mejía Santos, Romana's daughter, and Daria Pace, her grand-daughter, and by an elite group of master instructors, of which Javier Pérez Pont is a distinguished member, particularly in his role as the coordinator of this program in the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries. Anyone looking for authenticity in the method will find in this training program a unique and differentiated path towards acquiring a true understanding of the essence of Pilates.

You can request further information about the program, workshops, and classes in different Spanish cities for preparing for the entrance examination to the instructor training course by sending an email to formacionjpp@gmail.com

INITIAL ASSESSMENT/PRE-REQUISITES

Considering that applicants to the training program have different professional backgrounds and knowledge of the Pilates method, admission is subject to an initial assessment to verify each candidate’s potential as a future teacher in the organization. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency at the intermediate level on all key apparatuses, particularly the universal reformer and mat, and be physically prepared to undertake a rigorous training program.
Any Romana’s Pilates International teacher in Spain with a valid certification can help you prepare for this entry examination. However, it is recommended that you consider taking the certification prep course. Taught by hand-picked coordinators who have been trained for this work, it is specially designed for this stage.
Once you have passed the entrance examination, you can enroll in the Instructor Training Program.

Module I – Basic

– Monthly meetings: designed to allow all the students to get together to practice the skills corresponding to this level of the course, ask questions, and be introduced to the exercises at the next level.
– Practice hours in the studio: 200-300 hours.
– To attend the Intermediate seminar, the student must pass the Basic exam, except when excused for a valid reason.

Module II – Intermediate

– Intermediate seminar: theoretical and practical information about all the exercises at this level.

– Monthly meetings as the student progresses, deepening and enriching the knowledge acquired at the intermediate level, and incorporating practice cases corresponding to the advanced level.
– Two-hour online systems meeting each week.
– Practice hours in the studio: minimum of 200 hours.
– At this point the student will be eligible to request an appointment to take the final exam, which must be taken
within 18 months of starting the program.

Private Classes

It is essential for students to take private classes during the training program. A minimum of six are required in each phase of the program, two of which will be taught by Javier Pérez Pont. These classes are included in the program tuition. The other four must be taken with coordinators and paid for separately. The student is encouraged to take as many additional classes as possible to reach the highest level in their own Pilates practice before finishing the instructor training course. As this is an independent study program, these additional classes may be taken with any instructor with a valid Romana’s Pilates International certification.
To receive credit for the hours, make sure to note these classes in your training log with the signature of the instructor.
