I first met Adriana and Lipe, the owners of Empower Pilates Brasil, one of the countless brands in the “classical” style available on the market, in 2018.

They asked me for my opinion of their apparatuses and help in improving them. I told them that the term “classical” was meaningless to me, that a copy of another copy was still nothing more than a copy, and left it at that.

A year later, thanks to their incredible kindness and interest, I accepted their challenge and agreed to collaborate with them on the condition that Lipe enroll in the Romana’s Pilates International Instructor Training Program.

I have been working with them ever since, correcting the errors common to all the classical manufacturers and finally arriving at a replica of the apparatuses that Roman Kryzanowska used in the 1990s when I arrived in New York to start my instructor training under her tutelage.

Along with the owners of this brand, my work has consisted of remembering, analyzing, collecting data, and consulting with colleagues from that era about each of the apparatuses that comprised the Pilates method in the emblematic studio on West 57th Street in Manhattan.

As a result, after a slow and painstaking process, we have achieved the best version of the apparatuses invented by Joe Pilates from the perspective of Romana Kryzanowska.

This is in terms not only of the quality of the materials used but also of the maximum precision possible in how they serve and support the theoretical foundations of the method. 

They are so happy with the results that they have honored me by naming this product line “Javier Pérez Pont by Empower,” which appears on the metal plaque on the frame.
